A small group of Year 5 pupils represented the school with pride and respect at the Ditchling War Memorial this week, marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day. The children took part in a special ceremony to remember those who served in World War II.
They laid a wreath on behalf of the school and observed the two-minute silence alongside members of the local community, including the Marquess of Abergavenny. It was a moving and meaningful experience, giving the pupils a deeper understanding of the importance of remembrance and gratitude.
We are incredibly proud of the respectful and thoughtful way our Year 5 representatives took part in this important event.
