Forest School Wellbeing

Year 3 have begun their wellbeing journey with Claire Robilliard within Forest School time. Time dedicated to exploring how we feel and how we can support our wellbeing while creating self-care products made from 100% natural and organic ingredients.

This term Year 3 moved onto a wonderful citrus fruit – Lemon in their second session to explore it through our senses with some wonderful sour faces when tasting the fruit! After exploration they discovered all the wonderful benefits of Lemon with its astringent cleaning qualities while providing an uplifting scent to boost their mood throughout the Winter. They also learned all about the base the essential oil of Lemon would be added into which was the first ever invented soap – Castile Liquid Soap and together made a washing up liquid that was kinder to their skin and the environment while being an effective cleaner! I do hope they offer to do the dishes more! The blend doubles up as a handwash too!

Look at the wonderful labels full of colour and imaginative names including ‘magic, super clean, & zesty in the titles’. They learned that we are made of good chemicals as our plants hence why we wrote on the label ‘only good chemicals!’

Claire looks forward to this term’s varied sessions with Years 4-6 and will be back with Year 3 in Term 3 in the New Year.
