Year 3 & 6 Fields of Knowledge Trip

Year 3 had a fantastic visit to Plumpton Farm as part of our science learning. The children explored topics including parts of plants, pollination and soil. They took part in a fun treasure hunt to sort animals into pollinators and non-pollinators and enjoyed meeting the farm animals, including goats, llamas, sheep and an emu. A highlight of the day was visiting the cow shed to see the milking parlour and the calves. The trip brought our classroom learning to life and the children represented the school beautifully.

Year 6 were lucky enough to visit Plumpton College on a very cold, snowy day. We got to do a fossil hunt in their nature reserve and learned all about evolution, natural selection and adaptation. We saw lots of animals including ostrich, llamas, sheep and donkeys, and went into the milking shed where we saw a lot of very heavily pregnant cows, and a long line of cows queueing up to use the auto-milker!
