DT Day at Hurst

Year 5 enjoyed an exciting visit to Hurstpierpoint College, where they had the opportunity to use the science facilities for a special DT session.

The children designed and created their own solar-powered lights in jars, combining creativity with practical skills. They approached the challenge with enthusiasm and loved working in a real laboratory environment.

It was a fantastic experience, and the children had a great time while learning something new.

“It was a fantastic trip and we learned how to solder, and made jar lights powered by solar. It was really interesting because when it’s dark they switch on and when it’s light they charge.”
