Year 3 trip to Wakehurst

Year 3 had an exciting and educational day out at Wakehurst, exploring nature and learning all about the importance of seeds. The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Millennium Seed Bank, where pupils discovered how scientists collect and store seeds from around the world to protect plant life for the future.

The children also took part in a hands-on “Banking on Seeds” workshop, where they learned how seeds are sorted, cleaned, and stored! They even got to examine different seeds under microscopes and try their hand at seed-saving techniques.

It was a fun-filled day of science, nature, and discovery, and Year 3 returned to school full of fascinating facts and a new appreciation for the power of plants.
