We were delighted to welcome Pierre-Henry Fontaine, professional basketball player, to our school as part of the Sports for Champions programme. His visit created a real buzz of excitement across the school, and the children were eager to take part in the activities he led.
Pierre-Henry guided the pupils through a series of fun but challenging fitness exercises, which they had been sponsored by friends and family to complete. Their fantastic effort helped to raise money both for the school and to support Pierre-Henry in his ongoing athletic career. The children showed brilliant enthusiasm, perseverance, and teamwork throughout the session.
Following the workout, Pierre-Henry spoke to the pupils about his journey as an athlete. He shared stories from his career, the dedication required to compete at a high level, and the importance of resilience, healthy habits, and believing in yourself. His message was inspiring, and the children were captivated by hearing first-hand what it takes to pursue sporting dreams.
A huge thank you to Pierre-Henry Fontaine and the Sports for Champions team for an unforgettable day. We are incredibly proud of all our pupils for taking part and for the support shown by our school community.
